Steven Charles Wiandt, age 53, of Ravenna, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at University Hospital in Ravenna.
Steve was born November 8, 1965, in Canton, Ohio to David J. Wiandt and Rita A. (Eafrate) Wiandt.
A 1984 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, Steve graduated in 1987 from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
Steve worked as a Reporter for Gatehouse Media.
He was a member of the Ravenna Assembly of God Church, where he served as an usher and member of the church board. Steve and his wife Debbie also chaired the Marriage Ministry.
Steve enjoyed comic books, Jack Davis cover art, TV and Movie Trivia, and all things Elvis and the Beatles.
His greatest love was being part of Jameson’s cheering section.
He will be forever loved and missed by his family, including wife, Debra K. (Moore) Wiandt, whom he married July 5, 2003; son, Jameson David Wiandt; mother, Rita Wiandt of Magnolia; brother, David A. (Michelle) Wiandt of Strasburg; sister, Maria (Scott) Mackey of East Sparta, sister, Charlene (Richard) Longnecker, of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and in-laws, Jimmie and Sheila Moore.
Services will be held at Noon, Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Ravenna Assembly of God Church, 6401 OH 14, Ravenna, Ohio 44266 with Rev. Gary Beck officiating.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 17th at the church, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Steve will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery in Ravenna.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Debra Wiandt c/o Chase Bank 235 W. Main St. Ravenna, Ohio 44266 for an account for Jameson.
