Susan J. Hines

Susan Jean Hines, age 84, passed away on March 11, 2025.

She was born on August 27, 1940, in Alliance, to Susan G. (Szasz) and John Korosy, Jr.

A graduate of Mount Union College, Susan was a teacher with the Alliance School System having worked in every building except the former North Lincoln Elementary School.

Along with reading and gardening, she enjoyed travelling to visit her children at their duty stations around the world.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Deborah (Larry) Hughes and David (Yvonne) Hines; grandchildren, Jillian (Russell) Douglass, Christopher (Stephanie) Hughes, Stephanie Brockett and Danielle Hughes; great grandchildren, Garrison and Johanna Hughes; brother, John L. (Hazel) Korosy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to make special mention of Susan’s longtime companion, the late John Burson and his three girls for their love and kindness over the years.

Per Susan’s wishes, no services will be held.
