Suzanne L. Murphy, age 90 of Alliance, died at 6:15 a.m. November 2, 2006 at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, FL.
She was born February 28, 1916 in Alliance to Dr. Earl and Day (Collins) Mussleman and was a lifelong resident. Suzanne graduated from Alliance High School in 1934 and received her Bachelors Degree in 1937 from Mount Union College. She was a member of AARP # 3931, Alliance Senior Citizens Center, life member of Alpha XI Delta Sorority and had been a Pink Lady at Alliance Community Hospital for 12 years. Mrs. Murphy was a 50-year member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church. Survivors include her sons Tod F. Murphy of Santa Cruz, CA and Kevin Murphy and his wife, Barbara, of Pompano Beach, FL and grandson Zachary Murphy of Monterey, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frederick J. Murphy, whom she married Feb. 10, 1940 and who passed away Dec. 24, 1997. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Simpson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to Alliance VNA/Hospice, 885 Sawburg Ave., Suite 106, Alliance, OH 44601.
