Sylvia M. Benedetto Cironi, age 90, of Alliance, died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008.
She was born December 10, 1917 in Columbus to Daniel and Antoinette (Valentino) Zallanta and resided in Alliance since September of 1946.
Sylvia was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
She worked with her late husband, Dr. Eugene R. Benedetto and also managed Bel-Air Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Alliance Women's Club, Alliance Garden Club, the YWCA, Catholic Women's Club, AARP, and the Alliance Physician's Wife's Association.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Cironi, whom she married August 28, 1992; children, Nina (Homer) Eaton of Carlsbad CA; Gene (Doreen) Benedetto of Brecksville, Ohio; Cynthia (Jeffrey) Wilkof of Canton, Ohio and Gregory (Lisa) Benedetto of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; grandchildren, Darcy, Jennifer, Kristen, Jay, Heather and Sara; and great-grandchildren, Cailee, Jay Jr., and Daniel.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Eugene R. Benedetto whom she married April 27, 1941 and who died April 13, 1987; three sisters and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Father Michael Seifert officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Park Crypt. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Caring Hands, all the care givers, Alliance Hospice and Dr. Kuentz.
