Talmadge G. Garvin, age 84, of Alliance, passed away at 2:50 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2015, at his home.
He was born July 31, 1931, in Brownton, West Virginia, to Harry and Dorothea (Moore) Garvin and has resided in the area most of his life.
A 1950 graduate of Alliance High School he was employed in restaurant supply sales.
Talmadge was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. His memberships included the Alliance Eagles, BPO Elks, American Legion and the Roma Society.
Survivors include his son, Michael (companion, Lisa) Garvin of Asheville, North Carolina; daughters, Barbara (Robert) Steiner of Alliance and Sheryl (Carl) Falcone of Massillon; sisters, Naomi Swiner of Alliance and Jean Moore of Mineral Ridge; brother, Jerry Garvin of Palmyra; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his former wife, Beulah Garvin of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Dennis and Darrell Garvin.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
