Theda Heastand Faubel, age 88 of Alliance, died at 8:25 p.m. May 23, 2006 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born March 28, 1918 in Alliance, Ohio, to Curtis L. and Margaret (Brady) Heastand and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Faubel graduated in 1935 from Alliance High School, and graduated in 1939 from Mount Union College. She taught at Sebring High School and was a substitute teacher at Alliance High School.
A member of First Baptist Church since 1949; Theda was also a member of the Alliance Woman's Club and Bridge Club.
Survivors include daughters, Jo Deane (Samuel) Zucchero of Alliance and Becky Lynne (John) Montella of Long Beach, Mississippi; one son Roger L. (Bonnie) Faubel Jr., of Alliance; eight grandchildren; Shawn (Lynn) Montella, Amy (Dana) Mehnert, Beth (Anthony) Clemens, Erin (Johnny) Zuniga, Bradley (Lisa) Zucchero, Meg Zucchero, Jamie (Allan) Mickley, and Roger L. Faubel III; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special care-giver, Betty Holbrook.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roger L. Faubel Sr., on June 22, 2005, whom she married June 29, 1940; and two sisters Kathleen BonDurant and Lois Wright.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Pastor Gordon Thomas officiating. Friends may call one half-hour prior to the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1659 W. State St. Alliance, Ohio 44601.
