Thelma Irene Nichols, age 70, of Alliance, passed away at 3:53 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at her home.
She was born September 23, 1939 in Adrian, Michigan to Harlow Benjamin and Irene Esther (Dickerson) Anderson.
Thelma was a 1957 graduate of Adrian High School in Michigan, and Atwater Church of the Nazarene was her church family. She loved to read, bake and send cards.
Survivors include her husband, Lowell Edward Nichols of Alliance, whom she married February 17, 1957; sons, Rev. Lynn (Penny) Nichols of Tampa, Florida and Gary (Beth) Nichols of Jackson Twp.; daughters, Connie (Ron) Flack of Canton and Chris (Rev. Rob) Merki of Thurmont, Maryland; mother, Irene E. Anderson of Hudson, Mich; sister, Jeannine (Phil) Folkert of Hudson, Mich.; sister-in-law, Kathy Anderson of Hudson, Mich.; brothers, James (Martha) H. Anderson of Hudson, Mich., Roger A. (Sue) Anderson of St. Johns, Mich., Rev. Norm (Bonnie) Anderson of Hills, Iowa, and Randy H. Anderson of Leslie, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, including Melissa Warren of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her father; and brother, Steven R. Anderson.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neil Taylor of the Atwater Church of the Nazarene officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.
Services will also be held at Noon Monday at the Rollins Friends Church in Addison, Michigan, with Norm Anderson, Thelma's brother officiating, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian, Michigan on Monday.
