Theodore C. Popa, age 85, of Alliance, died at 1:31 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at Aultman Hospital.
Mr. Popa was born September 6, 1926 in Alliance, Ohio to John and Anna (Buda) Popa.
Theodore attended Alliance High School and worked as a meat cutter for John Lieber Meats and Kiko Meats.
A U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII, Ted was a very active member of the Freeburg Church of the Brethren and a member of the American Legion and AARP.
Survivors include his two sisters, Helen Eells and Rose Carter, both of Alliance; many nieces and nephews, whom he treated like his own, and many other family members, including special friend and brother-in-law Richard Ehrlinspiel.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Jean (Clark) Popa whom he married June 20, 1946 and who died July 16, 2002; brothers Zach, John, Elo, Sam and sisters, Mary and Virginia.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Zellers officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
