Thomas T. “Doll” Young age 74, of Alliance passed away Monday, October 21, 2019, at his home.
He was born March 6, 1945, in Gilbertown, Alabama, to Winston and Laura (Nicholson) Young.
Thomas graduated from Melvin High School in Alabama. He was employed as an auxiliary Police Officer and worked for American Steel, Alliance Crane and Plumbing. After his retirement, he worked for Thornes and Big Lots.
He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
Thomas was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and enjoyed watching boxing and wrestling. He was a big fan of Mohammed Ali. He was also an avid gardener.
Thomas enjoyed watching Sanford and Sons and Walker Texas Ranger. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Joyclyn “Sue” Young, whom he married October 23, 1965; children, Wayne (Vicki) Young, Stacie Young, and Thomas (Tabatha) Young, Jr.; grandchildren, Brittany Pierce, Ha’lena, Ha’Dia, Ha’lia, Winston, Ha’veah and Javon Young; great-grandchildren, Ra’Zariah Brown, Ray’Kwon Brown, Ha’lana, Ha’lanie, Beylee, Jersey and Javghn; sisters, Kathy Davis, Vinnie Jones and Ernestine Roberts; and brothers, Winslow (Robbie), Odell, Robert (Debbie), Lowell and Earl Lee.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ruth Everett, Minnie Curry, Elliott Young, Lovell Young, Lillie Mae Rogers, Regina Rhyme, Amelha Pascley and Exermae Johnson.
Services will be held at Noon, Saturday, October 26, 2019 at New Zion Baptist Church with Pastors W. Max Millender and Pastor Bobby Williams co-officiants. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
