Tillie Profeta, age 80 of Alliance, died at 11:40 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2006 at Aultman Hospital.
She was born Aug. 31, 1925 in North Benton, Ohio to Nick and Katherine (Kizeismaska) Trombitas and was a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Mrs. Profeta retired as a Meat Wrapper from the former Sparkle Market. She had also been employed by Acme Supermarket, Alliance Manufacturing and the former Thompson's Dairy.
Mrs. Profeta was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she formerly taught Sunday school at the elementary level. She also previously taught swimming at the Alliance Red Cross and at the YMCA.
Tillie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Jim) McClarren of Alliance, and Karen Hamon (Tim Johnson) of Sebring; two granddaughters, Kelli (Darrin) Phillips and Jennifer (Tom) Ayers; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Emily, Evan and Erik; two brothers, Victor (Jeanette) Trombitas of Lockport, New York, and George (Elynor) Trombitas of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon B. Profeta, whom she married July 26, 1943 and who died Jan. 30, 2006, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, five sisters, and four brothers.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Frank Gross Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
