Tony A. Lee

Tony A. Lee, age 91, of Alliance, passed away at 4:02 a.m., Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1924, in Sebring, Ohio, to Kelly (Lee) Caughman and Sarafine Lee and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
A graduate of Mount Union College where he played football and basketball, he was a dedicated fan and supporter of the Mount Union Athletics Department and a longtime member of the university's "M Club". He was self-employed, a member of Alliance Rotary, and had a passion for traveling, golfing, Mount Union football, and his family.
He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Tony was dedicated in his early life to raising his three young sons after tragically losing his beloved wife, Beverly (Bowden) Lee in 1966.
Survivors include his sons, Craig (Sandy Tassel) Lee of Bellingham, Washington, and Michael (Linda) Lee of New York, New York; brother, Sy Lee of Cleveland; niece, Susan (Greg) Donohoe of Alliance; and nephew, Gayle (Shirley) Courtney. He also leaves his dear friend, Barbara Herren.
In addition to his wife, Tony is preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Lee; and sister, Martha Courtney.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2015, at Dewald Chapel at the University of Mount Union with the Rev. Coralee Cox officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 57 W. Main St. Alliance, 44601 of which he supported.
