Truman D. McCourt, age 82, of Deerfield, passed away at his home with his family by his side on March 31, 2021.
He was born on April 26, 1938 in Webster Springs, West Virginia to Goodridge and Maxine (Carpenter) McCourt.
Truman graduated from Webster Springs High School. He was formerly employed by City Loan and Savings and retired as a corrections officer for Portage County Sheriffs Office. Truman was a member of Truth Baptist Church in Atwater and the American Legion Post 713, where he was the treasurer for over 30 years. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Truman served honorably in the United States Air Force.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane, whom he married on November 3, 1962; his daughter, Tiffany (Scott) Dragich; grandchildren, Nicole (Justin) Greive and Cory Dragich; great-granddaughter, Kamryn Darrow; great-grandsons, Kooper Greive and Landon Dragich; siblings, Vance (Chlorene) McCourt, Nada Roosa, Wesley (Debbie) McCourt and Goodridge McCourt Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one brother.
Interment will be at Hartzell Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
