Tunia Law age 96 of Alliance died at Alterra Sterling House at 7:10 p.m. December 14, 2003.
She was born December 11, 1907 in Poland and emigrated to the United States as a young woman. She began her career as a dress designer in New York City and Los Angeles and went on to establish and operate clothing stores in Chicago before retiring in Valparaiso, Indiana.
Tunia was a child of God and was an active member of Grace New Testament Church in Valparaiso, Indiana. She lived her faith and loved both people and animals. She personally assisted people in need and was actively involved in praying for those going through difficult times. She took special care to rescue and rehabilitate abused animals and then kept those animals in her home or found homes for them.
She is survived by her sister Aurelia Hahn of Germany, niece Elsie Mueller of Solon, Ohio, great niece Cheryl (David) Lundgren, of Alliance, great nephew Kent Mueller of Philadelphia, and seven additional great-nieces and nephews, and her dear friends in Valparaiso and at the Alterra Sterling House of Alliance.
Burial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday December 17th at Memorial Park Cemetery in Valparaiso, Indiana, followed by a memorial service at Grace New Testament Church.
A memorial service will be held in Alliance at 2 p.m. on Tuesday December 23rd at Alterra Sterling House.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice Association, Grace New Testament Church, or local animal protective society.
