Twila Jean Summers
Twila Jean Summers, age 73, of Alliance, died at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004 at Alliance Community Hospital.
Ms. Summers was born May 24, 1930 in Alliance, the daughter of Oscar Henry & Hazel (Cannon) Summers. A lifelong resident of Alliance, she graduated from Alliance High School, and began 48 years of service with Bank One where she was the head of accounting.
Twila was currently manager of the American Legion, a member of the Women of the Moose, a social member of VFW # 1036, and a life member of the Roma Society. She was an avid bowler and bocce player.
Survivors include a nephew, Robert (Doris) Summers of Alliance; two great nephews Jeffrey Dale Summers of Alliance, Brett Alan Summers of San Antonio, Texas; a great-great nephew Marshall Summers of San Antonio, Texas; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Raymond Summers, Lester A. Summers, and Oscar T. Summers.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Joseph Peters officiating. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
