Vera Mae Baird Pearl

Vera Mae Baird Pearl, age 85, of Alliance, died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2007 at Bel Air Care Center.
Mrs. Pearl was born in New Franklin, Ohio, May 7, 1922, to Huber and Anna Mary (Baird) Harter. Vera was raised and remained in New Franklin until moving to Alliance in 1973.
She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Franklin, transferring to Abiding Savior Lutheran Church upon moving to Alliance. She enjoyed gardening, and loved playing the piano, especially playing for St. John's Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Darla Burley and a grandson, Todd Burley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernie Pearl, whom she married February 2, 1946, and who died March 18, 1972; two sons, Randy Pearl who died as an infant in 1960, and Ronnie, who was killed in Vietnam in 1969.
Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Dean Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the cemetery.
