Verda Lois Cunningham, age 91 of Sebring, died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at Crandall Medical Center. She was born Dec. 8, 1914 in Beloit, Ohio to Russell E. Malmsberry and Edith (Gunder) Malmsberry and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Cunningham graduated from the former Goshen High School in Beloit. She was a member of Beechwood Christian Church and its Sonshiners Club.
Formerly, she was a member and president of the Marlington Band Boosters, a member of the United Way Board of Directors, Red Cross Board of Directors, a Red Cross Volunteer for the blood donor program for 40 years, member of the Town and Country Gardeners and Den Mother for Washington School Cub Scouts.
Survivors include sons, J. Dawson (Pat) Cunningham, of Bath, Ohio; and Dr. Douglas (Cindy) Cunningham of Alliance; grandchildren, Michael, Mathew, Amy, Mitchell and Jeffrey; great-grandchild, Ryan; and brother, Eugene Malmsberry of Beloit.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Earl Cunningham, her parents, and a brother, Rolland Malmsberry.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11a.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Andrew Higle Minister of Beechwood Christian Church officiating. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to Beechwood Christian Church, 12950 Easton St. NE, Alliance, Ohio 44601 or the donor's choice of charity.
