Verle D. Thayer

Verle D. Thayer, age 73, of Alliance, passed away at 5:15 a.m., Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born April 16, 1941, in Superior, Nebraska, to Ira and Rose (White) Thayer.
A high school graduate, Verle was employed as a mailman with the Alliance post office for 36 years.
Survivors include his son, Greg Thayer; and grandchildren, Adam and Jaden; and sister Wanda.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra Kay (Mummert) Thayer whom he married February 14, 1963 and who died June 2, 2010; grandson, Kody; daughter, Michelle; brothers, Jerry, Max, Darrell, Wayne; and sisters Elaine, Nila and Muriel
Services will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Dodson, chaplain, Alliance Community Hospital, officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
