Vernon L. Roose, age 85 of Alliance, died at his home at 7:40 a.m. Monday October 4, 2004.
He was born May 6, 1919 in Mahoning County, Ohio to Elra and Margaret (Lauener) Roose and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Roose retired from Morgan Engineering after working as a Machinist for 47 years.
He was a member of First Immanuel Church of Christ. Mr. Roose was also a member of the Morgan Engineering Retirees Club and was past treasurer of the Berlin Lake Association.
He was also a U.S. Army Signal Corps Veteran.
Survivors include his wife Matilda "Tillie" (Lewis) Roose, whom he married May 30, 1941; two sons Larry V. (Ann) Roose of Bedford, Texas and Ronald R. (Cathy) Roose of Ramsey, Minnesota; two sisters Elsie Boyd of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Eileen Sturgeon of Santa Monica, California, and three grandsons Scott of Utah, Tony of Minnesota and Brian of Texas, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Merle Roose, and two granddaughters.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
