Victor D Vickers

Victor D. Vickers, age 76, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2023.

He was born on November 10, 1946, to the late Richard and Pearl (Mattern) Vickers.

Vic was a veteran of the United States Navy and served our country for 4 years. Living a farm life and owning his guitar shop may have been his most cherished professions but he explored a variety of careers as a diesel mechanics teacher, a salesman, a welder, and a truck driver as well.  What he really loved was spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and playing guitar with family and friends.

Vic was the oldest of seven children; Terry (late Joyce), Darlene (late Jack Gobley), Sherry (Ernie McCracken), late Dick (Cindi), Sandy (Russ Bean), and Russell (Lisa). He was a dedicated father to four children, Vic II (Tracy), Richard, Tammy (Jason Sivy), and Jeanne; he had thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He spent cherished years with his significant other, Patti Hammonds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles including Dwight Mattern and Norma Burton; brother, Dick; brother-in-law, Jack; and sister-in-law, Joyce.

Visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following on Saturday, January 28th. Vic will be laid to rest at Marlboro Cemetery.
