Vincent A. Dowdy, age 51, of Alliance, passed away at 1:43 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at his home. He was born, November 22, 1958, in Alliance to Russell and Mattie (Barker) Dowdy. Vincent was a truck driver for the Tucky Transport for many years. A member of the ABATE of Ohio Motorcyle Organization; he enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time with his grandchildren and his family and attending the Buffalo Hollow Bike Bash. Survivors include his wife Melody M. (Wilson) Dowdy of Alliance, whom he married October 16, 1981; daughter, Monica R. Wilson of Alliance; three sons, James A Dowdy, David R. (Trisha) Dowdy, both of Alliance and Marty R. Dowdy, of the home; six grandchildren, Michael Morris Jr., Zachery and Allen Roberts, Chelsylyne, Leiya and Lukis Dowdy; two sisters, Gloria (Larry) Grantz of Alliance and Pearlie Fish of Alliance, two brothers, James H. Dowdy and Walter (Kathie) Dowdy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Cape R. Dowdy. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmie Holbrook of the Alliance Freewill Baptist Church officiating.
