Vincent J. Haidet, Jr

June 11, 1940 — June 12, 2006

Vincent J. Haidet Jr., age 66 of Alliance, died at his home after a courageous fight with cancer at 3:49 p.m. Monday June 12, 2006.
He was born June 11, 1940 in Camden, New Jersey to Vincent J. and Kathleen (McMahon) Haidet. He lived most of his life in this area, returning to Alliance after living in Sterling, Colorado for several years.
A 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Mr. Haidet attended Bowling Green State University for two years. He was formerly employed by the Hoover Company, and later worked as a truck driver for R.K. Campf Trucking in Salem. He was a former member of the Teamsters Local #92.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mr. Haidet had served with the U.S. Army Reserves, and was a car and motorcycle enthusiast.
Vincent was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. He was much loved and will be missed by his family which includes his wife, Barbara (Frate) Haidet, whom he married May 15, 1965; one daughter, Amy Marie (Jeffrey) Hendershot of Alliance; two sons, Andrew Vincent Haidet, and Nicholas Anthony Haidet, both of the home; two granddaughters, Ashley Elizabeth and Kaitlyn Michelle Hendershot; one sister, Virginia (Leonard) Walker of Vero Beach, Florida; several nieces and one nephew.
Mr. Haidet was preceded in death by his parents,
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor James Kolp officiating. The family will receive friends after the mass at their home.
