Viola V. Sammons

Viola Vivian (Lewis) Sammons, age 78, of Alliance, passed away at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Altercare of Alliance.
She was born June 22, 1938, in Ibex, Kentucky, to Daniel T. and Malissa Jane (Whit) Lewis.
Viola attended the Alliance Freewill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was very active with the Women's Committee at the church.
Survivors include her children, Gregory Sammons, Teresa Sammons Nelson and Daniel Sammons (Carrie Mason), all of Alliance; grandchildren, John (Ericka) Mann, Andrew (Erika) Sammons and children, Kyle (Samantha) Sammons and children, Zachary Nelson, Tyler Sammons, Alisha (Jack Furry) Sammons, Dylan Sammons, Ashton Mason and Ray (Denae) Krepps and children; brothers, Oscar Lewis of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Troy (Linda) Lewis of Grayson, Kentucky and Fred Ray (Patty) Lewis of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents preceded her in death in addition to her husband, Charles L. "Charlie" Sammons who died June 19, 2016; brother, Arthur Daniel Lewis; and three sisters, Finnetta and Gemella Lewis and Emila Jane Holbrook.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Holbrook officiating. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., prior to the service. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave. Alliance, Ohio.
