Virginia Mae Ackerman, age 83 of Alliance, passed peacefully at her daughter's home at 10:40 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2005.
She was born October 10, 1921 in East Rochester, Ohio to Phillip and Lela (Reed) Tatsch, and was a lifetime area resident.
Mrs. Ackerman graduated from Minerva High School. She loved playing bingo and slot machines. She especially loved her family and raising multi-generations.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Ackerman, Robert (Karen) Ackerman, and daughter, Cindy (Ken) Fallon, all of Alliance; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one sister, Freda Needs of Sebring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stephen Ackerman, who died in 1981, one brother, Donald Moorehead, and two sisters, Ellen Carducci and Viola Hancock.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Williamson of the Southeast Friends Church in Salem officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
