Virginia Andrie, age 87 of Alliance, died at her home Tuesday, November 16, 2004.
She was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 1, 1917 to Paul F. Flenniken and Gertrude (Grove) Flenniken Brumbaugh.
Mrs. Andrie graduated in 1935 from Minerva High School.
For eight years, she was employed at John Libers Meat Company. Virginia was a member of Beechwood United Methodist Church. She was also active as a leader in 4-H Busy Bees, Lexington Grange, PTA at Greenbower School serving as president for 3 years 1947-49. She was a professional cake decorator making many wedding cakes as well as cakes for other occasions. She also attended Limaville Methodist Church serving as Secretary and President of the Women's Society as well as the church Choir Director.
Survivors include her husband James L. Andrie Sr. whom she married March 26, 1936, three children; Charles P. (Linda) Andrie of Stow, OH, Linda (Bradley) Kincaid of Limaville, and James L. (Vickie) Andrie Jr. of Alliance, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, two sisters Pearl Haymaker of New Franklin, Helen Wright of Malvern. She was preceded in death by her Parents, a son Gerald Lee in 1981, a sister Margaret "Peg" Fike and two brothers William and Donald Flenniken.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, Nov. 18th at Beechwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
