Virginia Battey age 84, formerly of Alliance, died at 7:45 p.m. September 26, 2003 at her home in Melvindale, Michigan.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 28, 1919 to Frank T. and Anna (Krezak) Peshek. Mrs. Battey lived in the Alliance area most of her life, moving to Michigan in 2001. She was a member of Beechwood Christian Church, and past president of Ladies Auxiliary to the Son of Union Veteran's (Civil War).
She is survived by one son Kenneth T. Battey of Melvindale, Michigan, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one brother Frank Peshek of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Delbert R. Battey, whom she married March 11, 1939, and who died Aug. 9, 2001, three brothers Robert Peshek, Leonard Peshek, and Howard Peshek, and three sisters Ruth Krahling, Dorothy Martin, and Florence Hartzell.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday October 1, 2003 at the funeral home with Pastor Vernon Russell officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
