Virginia Imogene Binion, age 88, of Alliance, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at McCrea Manor.
She was born June 6, 1925 in Pedro, Ohio to Arch and Blanche (Delaney) McFann.
Virginia attended Decatur School as a young child. As a young woman, Virginia helped build airplanes for WWII at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio. She also worked at the former Husat's Bakery in Alliance.
She was an avid bowler in Alliance area bowling leagues as well as a gifted seamstress and quilter.
Along with her late husband James, Virginia owned and operated Binions RV Campground in Deerfield, Ohio for more than 20 years.
Survivors include children, Michael S. Binion of North Carolina, Philip S. Binion of West Virginia, Paul Binion of Alliance, and Sandy Binion of New Jersey; grandchildren, Lee, Shay, Jessica and Brittany; great-grandson, Aiden; sister, Phyllis Barker Moore, and brothers, Herman Lloyd Roth, and James Donald Barker.
Mrs. Binion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Albert Binion, whom she married Oct. 18, 1946, and who died in 1991, and infant daughter, Doretta Lynn.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
