Virginia R. (Aebi) Reed, age 95, of Cleveland, formerly of Alliance, passed away at 5:10 a.m., Sunday, November 16, 2014, at A.M. McGregor Supportive Living.
She was born November 12, 1919, in Beloit, Ohio, to John and Nellie (Urig) Aebi, and lived most of her life in the Alliance area.
Virginia was a high school graduate, a homemaker, volunteered at Mount Union College and worked part-time at Sivey's Gift Shop. She was an avid reader, who had an inquisitive mind. She loved to cook... and cherished all of her daughter's golden retriever puppies.
Virginia was a member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church.
My mother was an extraordinarily talented seamstress and knitter; creating beautiful sweaters and afghans for her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Reed of Cleveland; sister, Eileen Hartenstein; brothers, Robert (Jane) Aebi of Alliance, Williard Aebi of Mount Vernon and Elmer Aebi of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Eugene Williams who died in 1992.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Coralee Cox officiating. Friends may call the hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
