On October 25, 2014, God lifted a very special lady, Mama Jean (Ferrell) Keele, up into his loving arms. Mom and Dad are together again, holding hands and catching up on all that they have missed these last 15 years.
She was born November 25, 1935, in Long Bottom, Ohio, to William and Elsie (Miller) Ferrell and came to Sebring in 1974.
She was a graduate of Northwestern High School in West Salem, Ohio. She worked in the deli at Lake Park Market, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of the North Benton Presbyterian Church and the Women's Auxiliary at both the VFW Post No. 6720 and the American Legion in Sebring.
An avid sports fan, who loved all sports, Mama Jean especially loved her Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State. Her #1 team was the West Branch Warriors. When she was able, she attended all the football and basketball games. She loved going to her great-grandchildren Lexi, Austin and Lance's softball, baseball and soccer games. Her youngest great-granddaughter, Addie, was too young for sports, but she loved watching her learn to do the "Addie Scoot" and learning to walk. Mama Jean enjoyed cooking and scrapbooking, but her family was her passion.
Survivors include her children, Cindy (Earle) Kimble of Downingtown, PA, Rusty (Cheryl Blymiller) Smith of Butler, PA, Jamie (Charlie) Pierce of North Benton and Joie (Mike Barnhill) Keele of Canton; grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and Molly Caso and Nick Blymiller, Jason (Brandi) Pierce, Nikki Myers, and Owen Barnhill; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Austin, and Addie Pierce and Lance Myers; and brothers, Robert, Glenn, Charlie, Bill and Dick Ferrell; and many special friends and "adopted children and grandchildren."
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward J. Keele whom she married September 5, 1958 and who died September 6, 1999; brothers, Kessell and Jack Ferrell and sisters, Marie Hauck, Elladene Watson, Eloise Smith, Mildred Miller and infant sister, Florence Ferrell.
