Wanda Lee Chidsey

Wanda Lee Chidsey, age 86, passed away on October 29, 2023 at Aultman Alliance Hospital.

She was born on September 8, 1937, in Massillon, Ohio to Elmer E. and Thelma A. (France) Dray and lived in the area most of her life.

Wanda was a graduate of Washington High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and her Master’s degree from the University of Akron. She retired as an elementary school administrator.

Wanda was a member of the First Christian Church in Alliance, and was active in the community. She was a member and past-president of the Alliance Women’s Club; a member of the board and past-president of the Y.W.C.A. in Alliance; a member and past-president of the Carnation City Festival board; Quota International 3^rd time president; and a member of the board of the Alliance Senior Center.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kim Leber of Canton, OH; her grandson, Joshua Garrison of North Canton; a sister, Linda Kintz; and two great-grandsons, Liam and Elias Garrison.

Besides her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayla Leber and her brother, Terry Dray. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 South Union Ave. Alliance, Ohio 44601 with Sue Dehoff officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions take the form of donations to the American Lung Association of Ohio, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd. #260, Independence, OH 44131.
