Warren G. "Whitey" Horton, age 83, of Alliance, died at 9:43 a.m. February 7, 2007, at home.
He was born August 3, 1923 in Summerfield, (Noble County) Ohio to William and Bessie (Curtis) Horton and resided in Alliance most of his life.
Mr. Horton was a graduate of Summerfield High School and was employed at American Steel, B & W Tube and then retired from Morgan Engineering as a Crane Operator.
Warren attended First Church of God and was a member of B & W Retirees. He loved being outdoors, gardening, waving to his neighbors and even mowing the lawn. He also liked to collect sporting & local news worthy events.
He is survived by his wife, Erma V. (Antonosanti) Horton, whom he married July 30, 1976; daughter Joyce Snider of Cuyahoga Falls, son Richard (Winnie) Horton of Atlanta, GA; daughter Elizabeth Elliott of Bradenton, FL; step daughter, Cheri Flugan of Alliance; step son Alan (Cathy) DeMuth of Homeworth; step daughter Jaeann DeMuth of Dearborn, MI; step-son Eric (April) DeMuth of Beloit; step-daughter Paula (Melvin) Russell of Atwater; step-daughter in law Trisha DeMuth of Canton; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister Frances (Wayne) Culberston of South Charleston, OH and sister-in-law, Donna Horton of New Concord, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Betty (Venables) Horton, brother George Horton, step-son Bryan DeMuth and son in law Bill Snider.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Murphy officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
