Wayne G. Krabill, age 74, of Alliance and most recently a resident of Green Meadows Nursing Home, passed away Friday, February 6, 2009 at 12:05 p.m. at Aultman Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born January 4, 1935 in Harrisburg, Ohio to Allen and Della Krabill.
Mr. Krabill graduated from Louisville High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He was employed by the Columbia Gas Company for 47 ? years. He was a member of the VFW of Alliance Post 1036.
Wayne was very active coaching Alliance Hot Stove teams for many years and also played fast pitch softball for many years in Alliance and Salem (Barnett Insurance, Purity Dairy and Toot Trucking).
He is survived by brothers, Donald (Vivian) Krabill of Alliance and Ivan Krabill of Massillon; sister, Berdine (Ed) Pugh of Louisville; and sister in law, Frances of Alliance. He is also survived by four nieces, 6 nephews, 5 great nieces, 8 great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wilford.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Pugh officiating. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009 and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Salem Greenlawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance Ohio.
