Wayne L. Barker, age 80, of Deerfield, died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at home.
He was born June 12, 1927 in Ironton, Ohio to Elihue and Nora (Knipp) Barker and had lived in Alliance/ Deerfield since 1942.
Mr. Barker was the owner of Spillway Marine for 38 years. He was a member of Salem Amvets #45.
Survivors include his wife, Violet (Mercer) Barker whom he married Aug. 18, 1945; son, James L. Barker of Salem; two granddaughters, Michelle (Dan) Bright and Melissa (Mark) Bann both of Deerfield; four great grandchildren, Ryan Leifheit, Megan Bright, Matthew Bright and Mallori Bright all of Deerfield; sister, Eunice (Earl) Hanson of Dayton and two brothers, Normal Barker of Dayton and Harmon (Jan) Barker of Sardina, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Deanna Slorp and brother Roy Barker.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Deerfield Cemetery in the chapel with Pastor Chester Bryant officiating.
