Wayne Allen Tallman, age 83, of Alliance, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at his home.
He was born January 23, 1927 in Middlebourne, West Virginia to Harold and Dorothy (Kinney) Tallman.
Wayne was employed by Babcock and Wilcox Manufacturing as a crane operator and tool crib attendant until his retirement in 1983. He was a part time cabinet maker. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting, bowling, playing golf and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
A United States Army Veteran having served in World War II, Wayne was a member and past Commander of the VFW Post 1036 in Sebring.
Survivors include his wife, Mary W. (Steen) Tallman of Alliance, whom he married February 4, 1948; two daughters, Linda Seifert of Alliance and Gloria (Michael) Kovacik of Minerva; son, Allen Tallman of Louisville; four grandchildren, Laurie Battle, Heidi Hoffmeyer, Curt Gehret and Fallon Tallman; nine great grandchildren, Jason and Justin Battle, Katelyn, Matthew, Andrew and Travis Hoffmeyer, and Kaylee, Alyson and Jason Gehret; brother, Homer (Jeritta) Tallman of Paden City, West Virginia; sister, Leah Blackstone of Parkersburg, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and three step brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Jack and William Tallman and James Selvey.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Ruble of the First Church of God in Warren officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
