Wilbur J. Mix
Wilbur J. Mix age 82 of Deerfield, died at Akron City Hospital May 17, 2004.
He was born in Deerfield on March 18, 1922 to Walter & Mary (Girard) Mix. Mr. Mix graduated from the former Deerfield High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a wood pattern maker for Production Pattern Co. in Bedford, Ohio, retiring in 1985 and also enjoyed farming.
Wilbur was a member of Charity Masonic Lodge #530 of Deerfield, serving since March of 1960 he also enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling the U.S. and Canada.
He is survived by two sons; Gary L. (Cathy L.) Mix of Butler, PA, Tom J. (Ila Z.) Mix of Deerfield, one daughter; Sheryl Mix of Randolph, five grandchildren; Steven, Gregory, Michael, Daniel & Lisa, four great- grandchildren; Tabatha, Tiffany, Jacob & Seth, a brother; Delbert (Darlene) Mix of Berlin Center, and a sister Arlene Lopez of Downey, California.
Mr. Mix was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean Mix in 2000, two brothers Albert & Thomas Mix, one sister Wilda Oswalt.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Libb officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Deerfield Cemetery.
