Willard Robert “Bob” Beatty, age 86, passed away on January 17, 2025.
He was born on June 29, 1938, in Alliance.
Bob graduated from Alliance High School in 1957. He worked for Alliance Machine, B&W Research, and Ohio Air Products. Bob also served on the Lexington Township Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, the Sebring Model Railroad Club, and the Coachman Chapter 1 Camp Club. Bob was also a part of the Marlboro Volunteers representing the U.S. Military. He enjoyed building model trains, woodworking and cabinet making.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeaninie Long; his children, Loren Beatty, Willis (Jeanine) Beatty, Michael (Toni) Beatty, Toya Miller, Larry (Kathy) Horner, and Teena (Steve) Simms; 16 grandchildren including Tom (Jessica) Hobson and Allison (David) Hall; 12 great-grandchildren including Dylan Hobson; and one great-great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Linda Beatty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elain Swarts; son, Garry Horner; brothers, Wayne and Kenneth Beatty; and sister, Patricia Harrigan.
A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Monday, January 27th at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior. The Stark County Firefighters will conduct a last alarm service following the funeral service.
