Willard A. Whaley

Willard A. Whaley age 77, of Beloit died Friday, October 16, 2015, at Mease Countryside Hospital in Clearwater, Florida.
He was born to Marion and Louise Brown Whaley on January 9, 1938 in Portageville, Missouri and moved to the area as a child.
Willard was a supervisor for American Steel Foundries for many years and was known as "the Sandman." He was a U. S. Army veteran. Willard co-owned with wife Joy, Joy's Flower Shop in Beloit. He was a church member and a board member of First Assembly of God in Alliance. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, fishing, and more fishing. He was loved by all for his kindness, sense of humor and practical jokes.
Besides his wife, Joy of more than fifty years, he leaves his children; Wayne (Tamara) Whaley of Homeworth, Craig (Elizabeth) Whaley of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Brian (Lisa) Whaley of Alliance, Angela (Scott) McKim of Tampa, Florida., and Dean (Bridget) Whaley of Tampa, Florida; nine grandchildren, Alan, Andrea, Jenna, Cameron, Andrew, Brianna, Ryan, Colin and Reid; three sisters, Frances Lanham of Bergholtz, Ohio, Alice Louden of Rock Cave, West Virginia and Patty Roberts of Salem. He also leaves Lillian "Aunt Dell' Fox of Alliance.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Merlin, Rickey, and Marion Whaley; and a sister, Mary Foster.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home in Alliance with Pastor Lawrence Grow and Pastor William Gross co-officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
