William G. Blasiman, Jr. age 80, of Alliance, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born May 14, 1931, in Louisville, Ohio, to William, Sr. and Clara (Flitcraft) Blasiman.
William was a graduate of Middlebranch High School. He was employed by Babcock and Wilcox Tube in Alliance for more than 30 years until his retirement and formerly employed by Facts Inc. as a private investigator and security agent for many years.
He attended Maranatha Church of God, was charter member of the Lexington Township Volunteer Fire Department, patrolman for the former Lexington Township Police Department, Endowment member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion Post 166 of Alliance, and National Korean War Veterans Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling throughout the Western United States.
William was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War and was recipient of two bronze stars and the Korean Defense Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Evelene (Anderson) Blasiman of Alliance, whom he married June 13, 1953; two daughters, Judith K. Nicholson and Sheri Wagner, son, William G. (Kelly) Blasiman III; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Louise Anderson; all of Alliance; and two brothers, Harry (Elinore) Blasiman of Louisville and Howard Blasiman of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; a granddaughter; great-grandson; and brother, Ronald "Tiny" Blasiman.
Services will be held at Noon, Friday, June 17, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey Caldwell and Rev. William Gregory co-officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
