William F. Blatt

William F. "Bill" Blatt, age 93 of Alliance, died at 12:55 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at the St. Joseph Care Center.
He was born December 28, 1919 in Moundsville, WVa. to Aloysius and Cordelia (Shutler) Blatt.
Mr. Blatt was a milkman for 30 years and later, a monument salesman and owner of Blatt Monument Co. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo, Bill was on the cemetery committee.
As a lover of music, Bill was known for the Marlington Minstrels and Gee Haw shows and as a good ol' fiddler. He was a lifetime member of the Washington Ruritans and among his many sayings, his favorite was, "I've been on vacation since the day I was born."
Survivors include his two sons, Robert W. (Sherry) Blatt of Louisville, and Nelson (Laurie) Blatt of Alliance; three daughters, Lenna (James) Geiselman of Louisville, Sharon (Ron) Stephen of Louisville, and Martha (Rex) Rounds of Alliance; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Margaret Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the love of his life, Margie; one son, Darrell; and two brothers and four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday January 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo with Fr. Donald Feicht and Fr. William Bantz co-officiating. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday January 11, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Maximo.
