William Richard Burkey

William Richard Burkey, age 74, of Deerfield, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his home in Deerfield, the same home where he was born, on August 20, 1941 to Alton and Nita (Devine) Burkey.
William was a 1959 graduate of Southeast High School. He was a millwright most of his working life and retired from Alliance Tubular. He enjoyed the simple life and most of all loved his family.
Survivors include his wife Elaine, whom he married on July 22, 1989; daughter, Susan Mullany of Trenton, Mo.; two step-sons, Don Sillaman III of Marietta, Ohio and Kevin (Davonna) Sillaman of Franklin, Ohio.; step-daughter, Cheryl (Craig) Wharff of Marietta, Ohio; three grandchildren; Amanda Lowrey, Hannah Mullany and Joe Mullany; nine step-grandchildren; Ashley Maone, Lindsy Hinton, Brett Wharff, Destiny Sillaman, David Lamb, Josh Sillaman, Cory Sillaman, Tiffany Sillaman, and Natalie Jones; twelve great grandchildren; brother, Frank (Nancy) Burkey of Marlboro, Ohio; sisters, Margie Monbarren of Zepherhills, Fla., Susie (Jack) Lewis of Deerfield, Ohio, Phyllis (Jay) Coss of Newton Falls, Ohio and Glenda (Bill) Richards of Diamond, Ohio and Linda (Dave) Salmen of Deerfield, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Burkey of Atwater, Ohio.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, James Andrew Burkey; infant twin brother, Robert; also brothers, Charles, Harry, Donald and George; sisters, Luella and Alice.
Services will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2016 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, co-officiated by Rev. Ruth Roth and Rev. Don Booth. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
