William Jackson "Bill" Butcher, age 70, of Beloit, was called home to be with the Lord at 4:55 a.m. June 23, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born July 28, 1941, in Hundred, West Virginia, to Charles and Dorothy (McDonald) Butcher.
A 1959 graduate of Hundred High School, Bill retired after 35 years of service as an electrician from PTC, formerly Alliance Tubular Products, and was a retired honorary lifetime member with the Beloit Fire Department.
A member of Alliance First Church of God, Bill enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, and playing his guitar. An avid West Branch sports fan, Bill loved watching and cheering for his grandchildren at their sporting events and most of all being a Grandpa.
Survivors include his wife, of 52 years, Patty Ann (Stewart) Butcher, whom he married June 28, 1959; children, Mike (Darla) Butcher of Damascus, Terry (Harry Padilla) Butcher of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, Bill Butcher of Beloit, Tina (Eric) Moulin of Cincinnati, and Penny (Walt) DeShields of Beloit; grandchildren, Chad, Luke, Bryce, Brett and Brock Butcher, Morgan and Aaron Moulin, Kip, Tyler J., and Dru DeShields; siblings, Roy (Betty) Renner of Niles, Martha (Terry) Williams of Niles, Jean Mattison of Cleveland, and sister-in-law Donna Renner.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, John Renner, Ruth Faucet, Charles F. Butcher, and Jimmy Butcher.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at First Church of God, 505 N. Lincoln St. Alliance, Ohio, with Pastor Larry Murphy and Ray Lias officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
