William Cain

William Wilford Cain, age 89 of Diamond, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 7, 1920 in Sandusky, Ohio to Olin and Ethel Eddy, and was adopted by Hugh Cain.
Mr. Cain was employed at Rockwell International and attended Atwater United Methodist Church.
A U. S. Army Veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Deerfield Post #713.
Survivors include his children, Linda (Michael) Samples of Canton, Ronald Cain of Alliance, June (Gene) Lightel of West Middlesex, Pa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Audrey (Sickle) Cain, whom he married Jan. 29, 1936, and who died in October, 2002; one daughter, Joan, two brothers, James and Robert, and one sister, Evelyn.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor William Nicewarner officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Palmyra West Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
