William Hamlin, age 98, of Sebring passed away at 5:10 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2020 at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1921, in Canton, Ohio, to Wayne and Anna (Dezenzo) Hamlin.
A 1941 graduate of Alliance High School, William attended Mount Union College. At the age of 18, he became a cab driver. He then worked at Alliance Electric, then opened and ran Hamlin Electric in 1957 for more than 50 years.
Bill was a lifelong member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church. He was past president and founding member of the Kiwanis’ Pancake Jamboree. He also was a Park Board member.
He loved music, golfing, traveling and shopping.
Survivors include his loving companion, Karen Conner; cousins, Bob Beatty and Bill Cook; and stepchildren, Richard Ball, James Ball and Rebecca Tigelman.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Virginia Hamlin whom he married November 14, 1942 and who died February 21, 2003, 2nd wife, Esther Hamlin whom he married September 25, 2005 and who died March 31, 2010; daughter, Kathryn Hamlin; and infant son.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Coralee Cox officiating. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
