William Earl Homan, age 94 of Alliance, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 at McCrea Manor Nursing Center.
He was born Nov. 2, 1912 in Duquesne, Pennsylvania to William R. and Bessie M. (Duke) Homan.
A 1931 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Mr. Homan worked as an Inspector for Transue and Williams for more than 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was instrumental in the creation of the Transue Williams Credit Union.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for more than 60 years, member of the United Methodist Men and served as an usher for many years.
He was a member of the Lexington Ruritans, Alliance Men's Garden Club, American Legion Post 1036, and in 1994, became a 50 year member of the Conrad Masonic Lodge. Mr. Homan enjoyed gardening, farming and bee-keeping.
A U. S. Army WWII Veteran, he served with the 552nd MP, EG Co.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet G. Homan of Sebring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Stella M. (Litsinger) Homan, whom he married April 10, 1935, and who died Jan. 11, 1999; and one brother, James E. Homan.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. David Hostetler officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
