William Morgan

William Lewis Morgan, age 94 of Alliance, died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday June 9, 2004 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born December 10, 1909 in Abercynon, South Wales to Gomer and Elizabeth Jane Morgan and immigrated to Alliance on August 1, 1927.
He was employed by Alliance Manufacturing, retiring in 1975 as chief tool and die engineer after forty-three years of service.
Mr. Morgan was a member of First United Presbyterian Church. The Alliance Country Club, where he was an avid golfer for fifty years and was also a member of the Conrad Masonic Lodge #271.
He is survived by his children, Gloria J. Morgan of Alliance, William A. (Ruth) Morgan of Battle Creek, MI, granddaughter, Mary Ann Haar, of MI, granddaughter, Jane Elizabeth Yates of MI, grandson John W. Morgan, of Colorado, granddaughter, Kathy Crane Morgan of Washington D.C., two great grandchildren, John David and Libby, one brother, Arthur Morgan of Pittsburg PA, and one sister, Jennie Orvis.
Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary (Dunn) Morgan, who died Aug. 7, 1985, and brothers Irving and Oswald, and sisters, Irene and Nancy.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions may be made to First United Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
