William R. "Dick" Anderson

William R. "Dick" Anderson, age 71, of Alliance, passed away at 9:45 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born January 28, 1944, in Alliance, Ohio, to Andrew and Helen (Greene) Anderson and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
Dick was in the very first graduating class of Marlington High School in 1962. He was employed at East Manufacturing for more than 39 years and was a member of the Teamster Local Union 24. Dick was an avid fisherman and supporter of Mount Union football. He also enjoyed collecting trains and historic Alliance memorabilia.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, Margaret (Runyon) Anderson, whom he married in 1969, Dick is survived by his son, Troy (Marcy) Anderson of Berea; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Andrew and Jace Anderson; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Anderson of Damascus; sister, Janice (Claude) Ferguson of Indiana; mother-in-law, Ernestine Runyon of Norton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Clifton Anderson.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 23, from 1 to 3 p.m at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m., with nephew Bill Ferguson officiating.
