William P. "Wild Bill" Simmons, age 63, of North Benton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Alliance Community Hospital after a long illness.
He was born December 27, 1953, in Alliance, Ohio, to Frank Raymond and Lucy Ellen (Mobley) Simmons.
Bill was a 1972 graduate from West Branch High School and was employed by American Steel for 24 years.
He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and his John Deere Tractors.
Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Margie; his devoted four legged companions, Katie and Buddy; brothers, Ralph (Judy) Simmons of Canton, Ross Simmons of Alliance, David (Ruth) Simmons of Louisville, Ohio, Alan Simmons of Cleveland, Ohio, and Lloyd (Shirley) Simmons of Clarksville, Tennessee; sisters, Bettye Simmons, of Columbus, Ohio, Nancy Menges of Louisville, Ohio, and Kathy (Rick) Sacco of Canton; sister-in-law, Emma Simmons of North Benton; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie; his parents; and three brothers, Charles, Dan and Gary.
A Memorial Service will be held at Noon Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Barry French officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to Noon prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sawyerwood United Methodist Church, 956 Mohawk Trail Akron, OH 44312.
