Willie Mae Jones

Willie Mae Jones, age 74, of Alliance, passed away at 2:25 P. M., Monday, August 17, 2015, at Community Care Center.
She was born September 25, 1940 in Alliance, Ohio, to the union of Frank and Aria (Canada) Jones.
Willie was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Gladys Merrill Temple No. 1049.
Survivors include her daughter, Karla (Herb Jr.) Shannon; two grandchildren, Herb III and Bryson; brother, Mr. Clifford Jones; four sisters, Ms. Catherine Jones, Mrs. Viola Carpenter-Oaks, Mrs. Marilyn Cooper and Ms. Connie Jones; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Lucille Smith, and Mrs. Bobbie Lee Stewart; three brothers-in-law, Mr. Joseph (Dora) Thurmond, Jr., Mr. William (Pauline) Jarman and Mr. Collier Banks; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerome, John Thomas and Leoarn Sr.; and sisters, Mary Lee Thurmond and Helen Matthews.
Services will be held at noon, Monday, August 24, 2015, at New Zion Baptist Church. Friends may call from 11 to 12 prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery,
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
