Wilma J. Hardy, age 82, of Alliance, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born September 23, 1926 in Sebring, Ohio to Zephra "Burt" and Myrtle May Sutcliff Martin and was a lifelong resident.
A graduate of Alliance High School Wilma was formerly employed as a cashier and worked in the office at Persky's. She was a member of the Faith Family Church in Canton.
Survivors include her children, Jodene L. Hardy of Alliance, Craig A. (Judy) Hardy of Columbus and Kevin G. (Lynelle) Hardy of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Ross, Anna, Alicia, Alaina, Alizabeth and Aaron; six sisters, Thelma (Milton) Vrudney of Deerfield, Myrtle (James) Rittenhouse of Alliance, Beverly (Hank) Wurgler of Anaheim, CA, Sally (David) Sankey of Beaumont TX, Kay (David) Boyle of Tampa FL and Mary (James) McGeehen of Alliance; one brother, Donald (Diana) Martin of Homeworth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren G. Hardy whom she married September 14, 1946 and who died September 19, 1975; her step-mother, Betty Martin; and an infant sister, Evelyn.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Luzecky officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
