Wilma J. Penny

Wilma J. Penny, age 85, of Homeworth, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 13, 2022. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and a Christian.

She was born on January 19, 1937 in Petersburg, VA to William and Mod Estelle (Traylor) Renshaw.

Wilma enjoyed gardening and reading, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God’s Word. Though she was a humble, gentle woman, she was a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows the impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends and the world.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Bonnie (George) Schott, John R. (Karen) Penny Jr., and Sherry (Todd) Bourne; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; six sisters; four brothers; and her beloved pet, Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John R. Penny, whom she married September 23, 1953; three brothers; and a sister.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
