Zella M. Baker

February 22, 1903 — June 16, 2006

Zella M. Baker, age 103 of North Canton, and formerly of Alliance, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday June 16, 2006 at St. Luke's Lutheran Home in North Canton.
She was born Feb. 22, 1903 in Alliance, Ohio to Fred E. and Nora (Yeagley) Lower.
Zella was a member of the Show and Grow Garden Club in Canton. She was the owner of the former Market House Grocery in Alliance for 29 years, and was a former employee of J. C. Penney in Canton.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alliance for 96 years, and was the first resident of the Waterford Retirement Community in North Canton.
Survivors include one daughter, Ellen Wagner of Hertford, NC; one granddaughter, Patricia Cullipher; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and two nephews, James and Craig Fetters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 76 years, Warren B. Baker; three sisters, Verna Lower, Hazel Fetters, and Ethel Lower, and one brother, James Lower.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Thomas officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
